Western Branch track coach Claude Toukene has had tremendous success in his six seasons, leading the Bruins to seven state titles and four runner-up finishes.

Tonight, he goes for a national title when the girls team competes in the inaugural Nike Track Nationals at historic Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore.

"Winning this would be the icing on top of the cake," said Toukene, who led the girls to Group AAA state indoor and outdoor titles this past school year. "It would be great."
